Conference Scholarship 2013

The Overseas Association for College Admission Counseling has developed a Counselor Scholarship Program to encourage participation in the OACAC conference.  The goal is to support a counselor involved in college counseling at an overseas school who has not had the resources to attend the summer OACAC conference.

The OACAC Executive Board annually seeks applications and nominations for secondary school counselors to attend the OACAC summer conference.  Scholarships cover registration fees, direct travel to the conference location, and three years of OACAC membership.  Depending on funding, partial scholarship may also be available.  Candidates who meet the following criteria will be given preference:

  • Has not previously attended an OACAC summer conference (or currently do not have professional funds available at their current position)
  •  From countries/areas where previous scholarship recipients have not resided
  • Willingness to prepare a proposal and provide a conference session of interest to the OACAC membership.
  • Have minimal college counseling resources in the community (e.g., lack of nearby OACAC members and/or college visits that could be used as resources)
  •  From countries that have had limited involvement in OACAC
  •  Have submitted a thorough and quality application

University of British Columbia Scholarships 2013

Thanks to the generosity of the University of British Columbia again this year, OACAC has an additional scholarship fund to help bring counselors to our annunal summer conference.  UBC has donated funds to help OACAC identify secondary school counselors from around the world who will benefit from attending OACAC 2012.  Many thanks to UBC for their continued support!  Criteria for these scholarships is the same as above.

The Scholarship applications/nominations are over for the 2013 conference.  Please check back next year!
